Every rescued cat gets a microchip, a SNAP test for FIV and FeLV, and a spay or neuter. Start one, then do it yourself on the table: settle the cat, pick up the tool, hold it steady on the spot. Release the cat once it is cleared.
Adopters
Some visitors are here to take a cat home. Read what they say about their life, then recommend the cat you think fits (or set one down beside them): they go over to meet it, and the two of them decide. A good match pays the cafe; a bad one is turned down, and they tell you why.
The van · where to?
The office
The computer in the back office is where the business is run: the books, the inbox (people who cannot keep their cat write in with a short bio; say yes and it is dropped at the door within the hour), and the wings of the building the landlord will let you knock through into.
Cats in need
Word gets around about cats living rough. Visit one a day ($5, two minutes): find it, stay outside its ring, put food down and back off, lay treats for it to follow, click it when it shows a bubble. Trust is capped per visit, so it takes a few days. The trap works at 60 trust, 45 baited with its favourite, 40 at the end of a trail of three treats; at 70 you can just pick it up. Dishes and a baited trap stay overnight and work while you are away.
